Responsibilities of Citizens (Program 3)

What are you responsible for? As a teacher, you are certainly responsible for your classroom. As a student, you are responsible for giving your best effort everyday. But what about outside of school? Whose responsibility is it to keep the parks clean or take care of homeless animals? Yours? Mine? Everyone’s? Taking on responsibility beyond your own needs is key to becoming a productive citizen.
Cambridge Student Council — The students take initiative for their classmates and involve the community-at-large in a special celebration.
Class Pets — Young activists express their rights by initiating a letter-writing campaign, attending school board meetings, and successfully reversing a decision to remove classroom pets in their schools.
DAWGS — The kids in Dalhart, Texas, take on the responsibility of caring for animals that the rest of the town has abandoned.
